Okay, so I think I need to address an issue that has been glamorized and glorified in the media lately. Being promiscuous with another woman’s husband is NOT to be boasted about. Especially if the woman doing the home-wrecking is of color. We have already been depicted as a adulterous and lewd race of women by mainstream America for decades.
The latest and greatest chocolate love Triangle would have to be Dwayne Wade and Gabrielle Union’s Scandalous affair. Allegedly Gabrielle had relations with Dwayne while he was married, she is now being sued by his former wife for interfering, sexually, in their marriage. But that is not where my issues lye. Gabrielle Union was questioned about romance in a recent interview and replied “If it’s a choice between a man who gives flowers and a man who enjoys giving oral, most women would take the oral. And it’s free. Oral sex is recession-proof.” These kind of comments coming from a, already shady, African-American female is what gives people the ammunition to assume that black women prefer sexual pleasure over romance and lack any desire for commitment and love. It utterly shocks me that a successful black women with so much influence would project this kind of image to women, young women and children. In my opinion she sounds ignorant and classless. Besides her dismissing romance, the fact that she outright talked about her sex-life, when NOT EVEN questioned about it, is so un-ladylike!
AAND please don’t get me started on Alicia Keys! At the 2010 BET AWARDS Alicia Keys was present with producer Swiss Beats, and his son. When did it become ok to go parading around with a married man and HIS CHILD…while you are pregnant with his next one???! NO MAM! This women went on NATIONAL TELEVISION with a married man, has she lost her mind? That is unacceptable…whether she is in love with this man or not, she needs to respect the fact that he is STILL a married man. She also should be mindful of the example she is setting for young ladies who look up to her, as well as loss of respect she is taking on. And bringing yourself around another woman’s child while you are sleeping with her man, is disgraceful! I personally feel as though she is blinded by “love” and is making jaded decisions. These two women need to realize they hold a lot of influence over a large amount of the African-American community and are feeding into White-America’s efforts to “Vixen-ized” Black women . They have been careless with their current actions and words. POINT BLANK.

Fall is steady approaching. Before you know it, that familiar, crisp chill will be upon us…And what’s more reliable then our “True Blues”, to fend off those pre-Winter wisps? So, lets do the rundown…
There are Rules and Regulations to wearing Denim. First, and probably most important, find a fit that flatters you, and make it a closet staple. This will make it easier for you to shop for jeans in the future. It will eliminate the process of wading your way through a sea of one-thousand and one pairs of jeans in the dressing room. Once you find the perfect cut, experiment with different washes. There is nothing like a good dark-wash denim to tuck into a pair of boots or to put with a cozy V-neck Tee underneath a Trench Coat. A wise word of advice when picking your perfect pair: take it easy with the rips and rhinestones. Over-embellishment takes away from the classic simplicity of Blue jeans.
Don’t be afraid to take a simple approach when wearing jeans. Most people feel jeans are “plain” and require lots of BADDA BING. FALSE!…The right pair of denim accompanied the right accessories can be quite eye-catching. A nice natural-toned belt will do the trick. You can also play with textures; try a suede or reptile belt, instead of traditional leather. For those of you who would rather do without accessories should try layering. Since Fall is known as the “in between” season, this will work well for you. Building layers into your outfit will give control in cases where its neither freezing nor warm outside. Try layering a tank and long sleeved shirt with your denim to start, then try a vest or blazer over the two. This way you are prepared either way the weather goes.

Lastly, the 2010 way to throw it together. Ladies try a straight leg or skinny pair of jeans with a relaxed fit tee and add a tailored blazer . If you want to play with texture, try a denim or suede vest/jacket. Polish off your look with a little something around the neck. Don’t be afraid to go bold with this piece of jewelry, it will balance out the simplicity of the look. If you are not fond of necklaces try a scarf in a Fall-friendly hue, like rust or mustard. Finish the look off with earth-toned footwear and a hand bag, or shades that match your neck adornment, to tie it all together. Fellas do a simple boot-cut dark denim with a clean tee, maybe a navy or grey tone. This will allow u too add pops of color in your own way, without over powering the look. Try a camel colored trench and a matching watch band to add coordination. Then throw on a simple black belt and shoes, maybe a pair of shades as the cherry on top. Clean and crisp to match the Autumn air while still keeping the look uniform.
What better season than Fall to play up your jeans? The beautifully tinted leaves, lovely blue sky…Color in your world equals color in your closet!
